Actually, I'm always under construction. Aren't we all? 🤷🏼♀️
Welp...here we go. Why not start this page with a workout hahaha. It's literally my LIFEEEE. It saves me and that's not an exaggeration.
This is one of my recent leg days (at my dad's in FL). I love the outdoor gym. It's a bit limiting and certain things can be uncomfortable, but I feel like a badass with a setup like this. Don't ask me why. It's also nice to sweat my butt off because it's so freaking HOT. And I adore sweating. It renews me.
I'm addicted to pushing my own limits and becoming mentally stronger. This does it the most for me. Life can be really hard. Moving forward can be really hard. But in my experience so far, not moving forward is so much harder. It hurts more. I find that even a few too many days without a workout and my mind starts to go to a negative place more often.
I've always said that dopamine doesn't come easy to me. Years ago I believed I had a deficiency of it or I was unable to produce much of it lol - I tried every supplement under the sun as well as quite a few protocols. I've also always pushed my body to its limits in terms of physicality. I was a chubby kid, it was rough ha - but the moment I lost my first five pounds was when this all began, and that was back in middle school. The rest is history.
I've been through so many phases of it. So many diets. So many programs. Ways of training. Its been quite a journey 😮💨.
Where I am today is certainly the strongest I've ever been. I've in the past couple years hit my highest PRs. Hurt myself too 🙄. But most days I believe I'm the most mentally strong I've ever been.
I don't think I'll ever naturally be the happiest person in the world - I saw this quote once "there's always a little sadness in my happiness", or something like that. It resonates with me. I also don't quite know if I'd have a creative-working brain if you took away the sadness in me. Lol. Now the anxiety...gosh, I could live without that 😑.
But I'll always love lifting heavy things, running as fast as I can, and proving to myself that I can do things that are hard. It all translates to life outside of it all, and that's the most important part for me. It reminds me who I am and what I'm capable of :)
