Today I forgot I was cooking while using the PC. It ended a bit burnt XD.

Me this morning: Time to make stock! -> Puts water in pot, adds two bags of chicken and veggie scraps, adds parsley, bay leaf, peppercorns, covers, sets to boil. -> Makes breakfast, eats at table while catching up on twitter (nice smells in background) -> Chats with kids, organizes Saturday chore list (occasional spitting sound in background) -> HISS, SPUTTER, POP SNAP HISS -> "Ah, time to check on the stock" (stock is boil-splashing into gas fire below pot)

My trick is usually turning on the wrong element, and then something (usually it's still packaged) that was just resting on the top of the stove waiting until the water had boiled and then to be put into the pot, gets melted onto the ceramic cook top. Last time it was some "pot stickers" that I was waiting for the pot with the steamer to come to a boil.
