WHEN WILL MY REFLECTION SHOWWWWWWW

My relationship with mirrors has been a real rollercoaster over the past year and half or so. Don't get me wrong, I can still absolutely rip my reflection to metaphorical shreds on a bad day. But more often I find myself passing by the mirror and liking what I see more than I ever have before.

We're in a better place now, me and reflective surfaces.

Not gonna lie, feels weird to be posting something this positive with current events as they are. But I had this fully inked and flatted last night before today's decision became official and, well.

We could use some positivity today.

I’ve been on HRT almost 4 weeks now and I’ve had that moment of looking in the mirror and seeing a woman. Not a man or a man trying to look like a woman but an actual woman. I’ve only had it the one time but it really is quite something to experience for the first time, to see your reflection and not feel hate, anxiety, or dysphoria.

Would it be okay if I shared this one with my mom

Been on HRT for 4½ months. I'm still presenting in boy mode due to work issues. I had my first glimpse of the woman I'm becoming 2 weeks ago when I saw her reflection in the window of my Wife's Volvo. Was just a flash and the image was gone. Had a repeat performance in the bathroom mirror yesterday. These events are magical, and give me hope.

I can definitely relate ( I’ve hated mirrors for years, avoiding them as much as I could, until just recently, when I could start to see me, and not what wasn’t me..)

I think we could all use a smile and a hug today. So thanks for the smile and here's a *hug* back for you.

The feeling may not be quite as strong as it was at first but it never really goes away even tho I see myself everyday now

Cyprienne

Thank you for being a light in the darkness 💗💗💗

Holy fuck, that last one gave me chills… and anticipation of a possible future. And that first one? Yeah. Yeah.

I spent years before I was out to myself with my bedroom mirror covered up because I couldn't stand my reflection. 13 months since accepting myself and 7 on HRT, and I can finally see myself in the mirror more often than not.

"I used to feel nothing in the mirror".... yep!!

My dream was about getting out of a room having finished my makeup and finding people that loved me for what I was. And that finally happened on December 2nd, during a company party. So, very very very relatable.
