There will be a lot of time jumps, so this part can be confusing; however, as the episodes progress, it will be less confusing since you will be familiar with all the characters. I personally think the regular Eng sub is better than the English (cc), but the cc version actually seems to provide who is talking so I don't know what would be better for you guys. There is a lot of narration in this drama btw. Top kdrama of all time for me now!

The time jumps will always be in the bottom right hand corner, they don't really put it in the subs. The time jumps kind of look like those old pictures we used to take so it's very nostalgic and I thought was a nice touch lol. But yes this show is so good! I cried every episode, I just finished the finale and had no tears left. I love IU and bogum together, i'm happy you guys pause and talk about it to get on the same page :) and yes it's called when life gives you tangerines bc they are in jeju :)

Boo and Hoshi said they cried while watching this 🥹 they just like us fr lol

Actually I can relate the second wife. To be honest, who would want to take care, raise and give money to the daughter of your husband’s ex-wife. She still would accept the children of her husband but not for Ae-sun who does not have any relation with her husband. Especially, when they did not have money and barely making money for her future own child as well. Also it seems like the second wife is the one who is making more money , not the lazy husband. The tuition fee agreement was between Ae-Sun and her step-dad, second wife did not even know. Also she would think Ae-Sun has the family from her father side , so Ae-Sun can go there and she just did not know that family was also that broke. That’s our human’s selfish nature tho

IU is playing two roles in this show, her younger self as ae-sun and her own daughter lol so you guys were right when you saw her on the couch! :)

These are your questions that I managed to memorize while watching. 1. At the moment of the kiss on the field and at the moment when Aesun was abandoned by her stepfather and she went to her uncle, it all happens in one time period, she is a schoolgirl, about 16-17 years old. 2. She has been selling cabbage at the market since she was 11 years old, this is not mainland, Aesun lives on Jeju Island. Mainland is Seoul, Busan and other cities, which can only be reached by ship or plane. 3. In the scene where the midle-age Aesun appears, her daughter is lying on the couch, and her son is sitting at the table eating, IU plays 2 roles, the young Aesun and the daughter of Aesun Geummen. 4. Stepfather’s new wife is not a bad woman, she is good and fair, and you will see more of this in the future. 5. The woman who was in the truck at night is Gwancik's mom, she went to mainland to bring the children back to the island. 6. There will be frequent time transitions, you need to keep an eye on this, otherwise you will get very confused. 7. Many of the terms and words are dialects of the Jeju people, so they are not translated, and left in Korean. And one more thing that will occur often is the word "Haenyeo" - these are female divers on the island who extract mollusks and others.

I'm also glad that you're watching 4 episodes a week. If you didn't know, the series is divided into 4 parts of 4 episodes, so you will just watch 1 part every week. Also, the 4 series is perfect so as not to get confused and forget anything.

Yes forgot to mention this! 4 episodes = 1 volume, and each volume is a season (spring, summer, fall, winter) I think this first volume is spring cmiiw. Next would be summer and so on 💕

A quick tip: i think you guys are watching with the English CC subs on netflix right? That is usually my preference as well since it is a more literal translation but with this show, I found it better to watch with the English subs because they use a lot of old korean sayings, poetic phrases and analogies etc that will confuse ya’ll since it doesnt translate well into english literally but the English subs make it easier to follow what they mean

Kookielove82

this will be the best drama you ever see..

heh hih😃힣헿
