James was Jungkook's backup dancer when JK was promoting Seven on Korean music shows and at Yoongi's D-Day concert.

I don’t think this is Cortis’ first time in LA — I’m pretty sure they’ve spent time there even before the recent song camp. There are older photos of them in LA where they look much younger than in the current videos. Also, Sophia from Katseye mentioned during one of their Weverse Lives that during their trainee days, they used to take dance lessons together at the same dance academy in LA. Plus, Cortis filmed their MVs for “Go” and “What You Want” there, so it seems like LA is a familiar place for them. I also think it’s quite normal for HYBE artists to spend a lot of time there — not only because most top producers are based in LA, but also because HYBE America’s headquarters are located there (if I’m not mistaken), so they have more contacts and collaborations happening in that area. And yes, they’re currently in LA again for another round of song camp — the new album is already cooking! It’s been about a week and a half now. They also have an event to attend this Saturday: the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Inglewood, California. Then, on October 18, 2025, CORTIS will perform at the KOOM Festival in Brooklyn, New York (Duggal Greenhouse, 63 Flushing Avenue), alongside Zion.T, sokodomo, Epik High, and Giriboy. They’re already invited to upcoming award shows like the AAA (Asia Artist Awards) on December 6th in Taiwan, and also to a festival in Japan — MUSIC EXPO LIVE 2025 on November 3rd. They’re already booked everywhere!

The test videos they recorded on the phone were recreated into MVs with better equipment. Also I definitely recommend watching their variety content, they’re HILARIOUS, genuinely just an insanely talented friend group that decided to make music and dance together. ‘Pack up bro’ and ‘yoga challenge’ are two videos on their YouTube channel you could check out next. I’m enjoying this group so much they feel like a breath of pure fresh air. my bias strongly feels like it’s gonna be James. I love a talented hard working loser with an insane face card that doesn’t match his personality, I just LOVE🤌🏼🤌🏼
