So the Counters all have a Yung Counterpart. So Mun has Wi-gen, Hana has the little boy, MoTak has the ponytail girl?, and Mrs. Chu has the young guy. They are supposed to work together. So Mun is a very special Counter as he was not in a coma when Wigen was taken into him so I feel like his powers will be different and we are on discovery journey with him.

The whole point of them showing the parts that felt like they were fill ins is to help give more info on what happens to both parties when the rules get violated by the counter. So it’s not just a cut and dry type of “ok we know he will get another chance before he won’t anymore”. Like it showed when Motak got disconnected, he fell back into a coma. They are trying to convey with that scene that Wi-gen can die and possibly cease to exist if Mun gets out of control again, Wi-gen ends up disconnecting from Mun, leaving Mun in a vulnerable state and Wi-gen can’t enter another person. That’s why the ponytail girl got so hostile towards Mun about it.
