It does explain later seasons why bakugo feels that way towards deku. Also you were right about the disrespect thing with todoroki. As you saw, bakugo respected uraraka cuz she fought with all she had. As someone who came from an abusive childhood, that's the reason why todoroki's my favorite. I relate to him a lot.
