In this story you can see the origin of 한 or Han, a modern phenomenon that is a characteristic exclusive to the Korean people. The best way to translate Han would be a deep sentiment of sorrow, it describes the emotion of resentment and hatred originating during the Japanese occupation of Korea during which Koreans were stripped of their identity so it signifies a sense of loss. Han is an essential element of Korean identity.

Take care of your health Josh. How I get through hard times is think of people in much worst scenarios than I am (e.g. Ukraine, homeless people, terminally ill people, etc...). Makes me appreciate my life more even though it is not perfect. Grateful to both you and Cait for reacting to so much even though you are both so busy during the run up to Christmas! xoxo

Yes, Koreans have experienced so much hardships throughout history and I'm so happy (being a non-Korean) to see how prosperous modern day Korea is now. I think that is why our Bantannies are so humble since they have this "Han" mentality xoxo

You guys are doing great. I saved these two episodes to watch with you today because I knew I’d need a distraction with Jin heading out today.
