Slowly but surely, the girls are getting eliminated as we make our way to the big finale. It's a little tricky sometimes to maintain a steady pace on this. I won't want scenes to feel too rushed, but since this is a weekly series I also don't want to dwell on individual scenes too long. I allow myself a bit more of that in BCC, since that series updates much more than SD, but not tooo much more...

Not rushed scenes are perfect :)

I think you are doing a good job at making these scenes right now while still moving things along. Plus these two "mini showdowns" are really just lead up to the main encounter between Jenna and Inara.

Nothing wrong with taking your time and giving extra focus to a scene or moment. Personally, I feel like as more and more of the women end up in the tentacle pit that it would be fitting to start giving a full page or two in a row focusing solely on what is happening there.
