Hello lovely moonkips, it's that time again! This time, I set out to learn some crafts and make time for some softer things at the exact point in our timeline when everything feels harsh and too much. Come cozy up and listen to what I've been up to and tell me how life's been in your corner of the chaos, sweetie. ♥

Hello, Moon! Honestly, I can relate a lot to the kind of struggles you described with feeling unsafe while doing/learning to do things. In my case, I had an overly-controlling family that never let me help with chores. Fast forward to adulthood, and I just didn’t know how to cook, clean, etc. in my own home. I’ve made steady progress since then, and I think you’re totally right that creating a safe space for oneself can go a long way in overcoming those hurtles. I think it rocks that you gave yourself room to try something new like looming, even if it didn’t turn out quite like you’d hoped/expected. Intrapersonal communication is like half the battle in those kinds of situations, and it sounds like you did a good job getting more comfy with yourself while looking at those tutorials. It’s always fun when you make yourself laugh a little, even when it’s at your own expense lol. Also, not to repeat the obvious, but my goodness Kupo is just the cutest! That picture of him snuggling with the square is so sweet, but I gotta say, the cute upside down smile takes the cake for me xD As for what I’ve been up to, it’s mostly been little things. I did have a fun Valentines Day with myself by having a cozy movie night at home, watching The Shape of Water. This was only my second time seeing it before, and I had forgotten just how lovely and wistful the soundtrack is. Watching that movie feels like stepping into an adult fairy tale for me (I think Guillermo del Toro movies are good at transporting viewers like that). I also recently joined a small local book club, and the current read is Katabasis by R. F. Kuang. The first meeting on the book is happening soon, so jury is still out there, but I’m really enjoying it so far. I’ve also recently rediscovered my fondness for sudoku puzzles, and I’m seriously considering buying a big book of them to keep me occupied when needed for the foreseeable future, lol. As always, thank you for making these little spaces of connection, Moon 💜 You’re right, the only way out of these tough times is through, and sharing a little every now and then certainly helps.
