Everyone could use a personal dragon girl like Eragon’s <3

I tried making an SFW version for the first artwork (the only difference is the absence of genitals), and I hope you’ll like this alternative :)

P.S. On one hand, having a schedule is really convenient, but on the other hand, it's hard to stick to it when it comes to creativity — there are days when my creative energy is just at zero. Sometimes I can finish several pieces in a week, and other times it takes me nearly two weeks to complete just one.

The point is — I’ll always do my best to complete all the promised artworks, but meeting deadlines doesn’t always work out for me :) Thank you for your understanding!

Yeeessss I wanted this <3

really nice! However, i think she has changed design recently. Paolini has released a statuette of her where she looks more like a traditional dragon.

Deadlines stink, I feel ya lol

I tried to figure out what her canonical appearance is, but she looks different everywhere—in the movie, in the book, and in other artists' artwork. So, I decided to combine the elements I liked the most from all the versions :>

Lominloce

She looks great but I kinda wish you didn't take inspiration from the movie. It just wasn't a very good one :/

I'll be honest, as much as I love this image, she doesn't look like Saphira almost at all. The fur/mane, feathers, and near lack of spikes make her seem really soft rather than a fierce and powerful dragoness.

Until this month, I had no idea this universe or this dragoness even existed. I watched the Eragon movie for the first time only about two weeks ago. After that, I started gathering references. In almost every drawing or depiction, she looks a bit different — the only thing that stayed pretty consistent was that she’s a feathered dragon. Based on what I saw, I created a kind of combined interpretation of her

Philden

I haven’t read the book — I’ve only seen a book illustration of an unappealing version of Saphira, but I didn’t use it as a reference. Actually, I have seen the artwork you sent me, but considering it’s just a single piece done in that style, it feels more like a fanart. The reason I’m telling you all this is because I’m not very familiar with this universe or its creators, but I did my best with what I could.

Lominloce

No, yeah, I understand. I appreciate that you did what you could and, as I said, I like this piece anyways. Just wish it was more accurate to my favourite childhood character. I get why you'd consider the art I linked fan art, but it's not really a standalone thing. It was just meant to be an example, and it's actually based on the statuette another commenter mentioned (which in turn was designed with input from the books' author). There's some more art for a new edition of the books done in a very similar style, too. Also, I'm pretty sure nobody likes how Saphira looks on the book cover xD

Philden

At the moment, I’ve almost finished the second artwork, so the third one will also follow the same design to keep a consistent look across these pieces. However, if Saphira gets chosen again in a future monthly poll, I’ll take your suggestions into account and create her appearance closer to the statuette and the artwork you sent me :>

Lominloce

Oh, that's really nice of you. I look forward to seeing the next two parts, too :)
