OVERDRIVE REALISTIC ECONOMY V5 — EARLY RELEASE (Patreon)

OverDrive Realistic Economy V5 is finally here.

This is one of the biggest updates the Economy Mod has received so far, with a much stronger focus on realism, progression and making the entire ETS2 economy feel more believable over longer play sessions.

V5 continues the direction of the previous versions, but expands the project with new balancing, further economy changes and one completely new experimental system.

WHAT’S NEW IN V5

• Reworked job payouts and overall income balanceEarnings are adjusted to make progression slower and more meaningful.

• Updated operating costsRunning a company should feel more expensive and require more planning instead of becoming profitable too quickly.

• More realistic truck and company progressionBuying trucks, expanding garages and growing your fleet should feel like a proper long-term goal.

• Further economy balancingMultiple values have been adjusted to create a more consistent and realistic experience across longer saves.

• Experimental Real-World Fuel Price System!

V5 also introduces an experimental companion program designed to automatically update fuel prices using current real-world fuel price data.

The goal is to make fuel prices react to real-world values and allow the system to work with different map mods and map combinations, instead of relying on fixed fuel-price files made for one specific map setup.

This feature is still experimental.

The companion program is NOT required to use Economy V5, and the mod will still work without it.

However, using it is generally recommended if you want the full V5 experience and dynamically updated fuel prices.

Please keep in mind that because this system is still experimental, it may cause errors, compatibility issues or unexpected behavior on some setups. It will continue to be improved based on testing and feedback.

This post is mainly to officially announce the V5 release and explain what has changed.

V5 is another major step for the Economy Mod, and there is still much more I want to improve in future updates.
