The whole award show left an awful taste in my mouth. They deserved the win and they deserved to perform the whole Dynamite song and not a shortened version of it. They were used for ratings and the world knows that. I'm sure they will go to BTS again with their tail between their legs. Eminem was right about what he said about that award show.

I'm sure the other artist in this category also felt the same. the only difference is that their fandoms aren't disrespecting anyone not like this fandom. I love the boys a lot but I will never call myself ARMY. I hope for the day an that American artist start demanding a MMA Award or MAMA Award.

I feel you. I really can't let it go either and i think the reason why is because we were ALL invested in this. ARMY worked hard to get dynamite to where it was, BTS of course worked sooooo hard all these years to get nothing--and that hurts. I honestly don't like putting this type of energy out into the world but I feel like if they were American they would have won... I'm just saying... you know I kind of feel bad for saying it but the fact that they were only nominated in a small category with their ONLY English song of the year as a Korean band... it never felt right to me.

I feel this. Most of us feel the same. Regardless of whether or not we think the Grammy’s hold meaning, the boys wanted it and so we want it for them, in addition to the fact that they deserve it. The conceit of the Grammy’s is that they’re the peak achievement for the general music industry, and yet they’re exclusive and western-centric. BTS’s loss highlighted more of the same problem that has existed for decades. Thanks for sharing! It’s good for us to vent together.

Hello! When you say other artists felt the same way, is it felt that they should’ve won or BTS should’ve won the award? Either way, everyone’s opinion is valid and should be accepted and respected. BTS will not be everyone’s cup of tea and that is fair. Also, as for the “except that their fandom aren’t disrespecting anyone” I agree that there are some toxic ARMYs out there that are like that. They go overboard sometimes. However, generalizing the whole fandom as disrespectful, I cannot agree to that. I think some of us just expresses our passion and love for the boys in the wrong context or manner. I am pretty sure all other fandoms have the “not so nice” ones. It’s just magnified because its BTS. One last thing, I don’t think the boys were demanding the Grammy. They wanted to get one because they think they can. But that’s different from demanding. That’s just my opinion. 🙂

AJJ, that was therapeutic, wasn’t it? You’re done with the first step to recovery. A few more and you will feel ok. Took a while for me too but seeing the boys happy and with all these new things coming, I choose to only look at the brighter side of things now. They will be back at the Grammys. We can bet on that. ☺️

I'm saying other artist also felt as though they deserve to win. And I completely agree their are other fandoms who do go overboard, however this fandom notorious for disrespecting American artist, TV host, and interviewers and it sickening.

Fair enough. It’s the misplaced passion and again it is magnified because BTS is a huge artist. I bet years from now when they are not as big as they are now, it will not be as noticeable. But I know there’s more of us that will prefer to take the high road. It wouldn’t be fair to disregard what this fandom has achieved and the many good things they’ve done just because some are too toxic to handle. We aren’t a perfect fandom and will always have its flaws just like our artists. But you know we love them anyway. I like this banter. It’s healthy.

I agree with you 💯 omg I said the same thing about BTS not responding to the grammy's next year should they call. In fact, there should be the BTS music awards. The award would have the BTS logo on one side with 7 silhouettes & ARMY on the other side. It would be the highest & most respected award in the world. I know I'm ranting, but that's how I feel. L💜

I felt that. It’s hard. It’s particularly hard for me because the other artists were solos with features. They weren’t all the time groups/duos, which felt pretty frustrating. It is what it is.

Straight facts. Thank you for sharing and I’m sorry it affected you for so long. I know its been bothering me too...something that’s just lingers, but thank you for this, it was cathartic. I think we take it personal because of the relationship we have, which is so hard to describe. Not one of expectation but a supportive respectful one. One that lifts the other one up higher and higher. We want BTS to be successful, they want ARMY to be successful. They don’t have to care about us so deeply and could just focus on the fame and fortune, but they come to us tired and bare faced on live streams while we teach each other Korean to better communicate. None of us must do this, but we do it for the benefit of each other. We celebrate our success of each other, and we support each other in times of defeat. Again, thank you for your video. I do hope you got to catch their Vlive afterwards where they basically comforted all of us for about 20 minutes, even though they did not receive the award. Who does that? Really. Who in the world does that? BTS+ARMY.

Western artists don't need to demand winning MMA or MAMA awards because they already do, I remember Billie Eilish winning one. The only times ARMY disrepects TV hosts or interviewers is when they do it first, mainly for asking dumb or embarrassing questions like Ellen asking them embarrassing questions or Ryan Seacrest asking what language the album will be in, or recently that German radio host saying horrible things about the boys just because he didn't like their cover of Fix You. Mostly they just keep asking the same monotonous questions (who do you want to collaborate with?) and it gets boring, what's so wrong with wanting more? Yeah some ARMY's are toxic, though most of the time the attacking isn't even from ARMY it's from antis. And western Fandoms are just as bad as ARMY, we might just be louder because our Fandom is bigger so Idk why you're picking on us

Thank you for sharing. Every time I think about I get a bad taste. I try not to dwell on it too much cause the boys were so positive about it. No one I know personally understands why it bothers me so much so it is nice to come here and know that there are people that get it.

They are pretty amazing. I've been a "fan" for years. So I know all about the history. I just don't call myself an ARMY. And I also understand about wanting to protect them. personally I wish I could Kim Taehyung in my pocket however everyone is not out to get them. I complete agree that question was outline.

Personally, I think it’s fair to call out interviewers for asking inappropriate, uncomfortable, or rude questions. And that goes for any artists, not just BTS. Everything you said was true in my opinion. They deserved that and everyone knows it. They were robbed and then used. I have said it too that I would love for them to not go back but instead do a vlive with army. If they choose to I would probably watch the replay or something. I told my husband I will forever be saltier than the Dead Sea about how they done by the scammys and just people slighting them in general. 💜

We understand you pain AJJ. Remember this isn't the first time that they didn't receive an award that they had earned. So I guess it's easier for some of us older ARMY's to get over, although it still hurts and angers us, because we've been through it before. Multiple times before. Can someone please explain to me the voting criteria used to tabulate the winners at the Grammys? In what area exactly were BTS lacking compared to the winner? Please? Someone? I agree that the ARMY fandom should NEVER attack or insult o the artists or fandoms. That is unacceptable and NOT what be in an ARMY is about. You do bring up an interesting point concerning nationalities other than Asian being nominated for the MAMA and MMA music awards shows. Acceptance should go both ways in a sense. Hmm... Something to definitely think about. I would like to apologize for the disrespect shown to you and any others by my fellow ARMY. I hope we can help them understand that it is not acceptable behavior. Nobody knows, it's voted by the recording academy committee and that's part of the reason why people are upset because they at least want the transparency of what criteria they're going for. Believe me, I'm just as confused as you are. Going past the fact whether collabs should be in that same category, how are they defining performance? Do they mean performance in the mv or live performance? Because I've only seen Rain On Me performed once compared to BTS's 30+ Dynamite performances...

I agree, hands down,they should’ve won. They should’ve won more than one in my opinion. I believe the award shows are rigged and the major record labels are the culprits.
