Place and aim lights from your camera's perspective. Instead of wrestling with Studio's gizmos to position and rotate lights, just look where you want the light to go and press a hotkey.

The problem

Positioning lights in Studio is tedious. You place a light, switch to its gizmo, drag it around, rotate it, switch back to the camera to check, go back to the light to adjust — over and over. It's especially painful with directional and spot lights where the angle matters.

The solution

Light From Camera lets you use your camera as a light placement tool. Look at your scene from the angle you want the light to come from, press a hotkey, and the light snaps to match. Position, rotation, or both — your choice.

Features

One-shot placement — snap a light's position, rotation, or both to your current camera with a single hotkey

Lock to Camera mode — lights follow your camera in real-time as you orbit and pan. Navigate freely to find the perfect angle, then confirm to place or press Escape to cancel and restore the original position

Live preview viewport — while locked, a picture-in-picture window shows your scene from your original viewpoint so you can see the lighting effect as you move. Includes post-processing (bloom, color grading, tonemapping) for accurate preview

Multi-light support — select multiple lights and move them all at once

Lock mode options — choose to track position only, rotation only, or both

Resizable and movable preview window

On-screen notifications for all actions

Fully configurable hotkeys

Default Controls

Shift+L — Apply rotation from camera
