That New Shoe Smell

I absolutely loved this! Big kudos to Juliekat for the story idea (I seem to recall you mentioning it was hers). It's almost like an undersea Mood Boobs. The parallel with scaring off predators was a nice touch and Batman's shark repellent reference got a good chuckle out of me. That teaser at the end would make for a fun monthly image. ;) I'd love a followup to this at some point. Not too sure how, but I'm sure there are some fun ways to spin this out further. Superb work and a wonderful return to form. Feels like a classic BE story.

Thank you for the wonderful review. Yes, the concept was Juliekat's. (I will pass on what you wrote.) She wrote the outline. Then we both worked on it (my mostly asking questions, motivations, made suggestions). Then I wrote the script. She reviewed it. And then made some edits. She also chose the "end" size (in the lab).

2026-10-06 19:00 I showed her all the comments here last night, and she was pleasantly surprised. She's proofread and made suggestions to text is almost all grOw issues. She also wrote 2 "BE magazine" articles way back in the day on the BEArchive, detailing her first brushes with BE, which I did illustrations for. (I tried looking for these, but could not find anything.)
