A deep dive into grOw/cinema 2, "grOwing to a Crescendo."⚠️ Spoilers below!

=============================

Mysterious Island: Fiction or... Real?

The last half of grow/cinema 2, "grOwing to a Crescendo," takes place on a very private island nestled adjacent to New York's Long Island. It is described in the story as an island only accessible by boat or helicopter and only to the inhabitants and guests of Cadence's posh resort, Concerto by the Sea.

There actually is a REAL place called Robin's Island, located in the middle of Long Island's Eastern forks, that the Resort setting in Crescendo mirrors. The real location is also a "mysterious island" because it is owned by a billionaire and is not open to the public. Even locals, police, and Hamptons Real Estate brokers (who deal in MULTImillion dollar homes in the area and know all the real estate very well) don't know exactly what is on the island. It is said to be worth up to half a billion U.S. dollars. (You can Google it.)

In the BAU*, this island is home to Nymphonocturne and Cadence's Troupe.

Character Names

The terminology of the story is very music-themed. Originally, the concept of the series was based on the term "let's make beautiful music together," a nod towards sexual relations and romance.

This naming convention also affected the figures of the story. Every person in the series has a musical-based name. Musically trained readers probably picked up on most the musical nods in the names of the characters — except maybe one.

Some may have scratched their heads at the name, Hasa Tinear. You may remember that Hasa was considered a silenzio, or a "person who works with performers, usually allowing them to hone their craft on themselves. They have no resonance powers."

There is an idiom, "has a tin ear," which denotes a person who lacks musical/singing ability, or the ability to appreciate music. "Has a tin ear" morphed into "Hasa Tinear," the name of the character on the island who does not have any resonance power.

“Breaking news from Long Island, there appears to be several gigantic naked women and men hundreds of feet tall having an orgy off that weirdo island. We finally know what’s going on.”
