Another 2 frames completed. It would have been 3, but I had to do some "reference research" for 2 new characters to appear soon. This took some time to gather.

Just curiosity, how do you choose your character reference?

It's a mutli-step process, some of which is methodical and some is inspirational. I first determine what type of character I want — strong, cute, athletic, smart, bossy. Then I try to find people who "look" the part. Sometimes I search for a Hollywood actor that fits the bill. Other times, I will search through model pages, such as MetArt. Occasionally, I will find the right "face", but find another model with the right hair style, and then combine them. But, it doesn't end there. I need to look for a model who has enough distinguishing characteristics that will allow me to pull off a consistent look. Some people are very beautiful, but are very hard to draw due to little unique characteristics -- I'd cast them in a live action movie, but not as a star of my comics. I also need to make sure I can find numerous photos of different angles and expressions. I've found some models who I really wanted to use, but always had the same smile or "model sultry" look — which is not enough to work with.
