Interstate 94, that is, linking Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. This is a brief synopsis of my adventures driving home from WindyCon 2025.

Waiting for the break of day,

Looking to get on my way,

Trying to avoid the snow --

Streets are clear, come on let's go.

Lake effect will soon dump more,

Get me to I-94....

Wanted protein from the seas,

So I stopped at Captain D’s.

But there was no southbound ramp,

Soon I’ll have to set up camp.

Took a south Chicago tour,

Finally found the 94....

Suddenly the trucks all parked,

In a few hours, it got dark.

Two crack-ups on 65,

All I want to do is drive....

Flurries, black ice, winds, and more,

Get me off the 94....

Wild Card

That last verse reminds me of my trip to Furpoc where I-495 came to a complete stop. It took me almost an hour to go one mile so I could get off of that highway. Once I was off it, the alternate route was clear and I had no problems making it the rest of the way (well, one other accident traffic jam, but that one had one lane moving so just slow)
