Coming This Week-end - WooHoo Wellness & Pregnancy Overhaul v2.0 (Patreon)
Content
I am very happy to announce that major improvements are coming to the WooHoo Wellness & Pregnancy Overhaul Mod within a few days. The mod will thus graduate to v2!
I'm almost done making all of this. The only part that's not fully done is some aspects of the new optional module for unwanted pregnancy acceptance.(If I finish early, I will try to also have the insemination related features ready by the release of v2 this week-end, but can't promise.)
Here's the run-down on what's new and what's changed:
- Pregnancy Risk is now fully customizable, on an individual basis (meaning, each Sim that can be impregnated can have a different setting).
- Sims can Finally have pregnancy wishes that change over time.
Every few sim days, Sims with this preference will see their wishes have a chance to change.
- Condoms can now be purchased in any number you wish from the computer. If using the Rabbit Hole interaction, the Sim will now get a pack of 8 instead of 20.
- Abortions will NOT glitch anymore and now work 100% of the time. Not only that, but they won't either get that occasional bug where it required to travel to another lot or reload for Sims to be able to Try for Baby again. Fully functional abortions, Finally!
- Re-designed menus
As the mod grows, the menus become cluttered, and their titles, not that great. The mod now has two menus (three counting the hidden menu in "Actions").
- PREGNANCY AND FAMILY: for paternity testing, individual fertility and pregnancy risk, pregnancy interactions and wishes, abortions, and later (to come) insemination, separated parenting, and adoption.
- RELATIONSHIP WELLNESS: for anything relative to protection, WTDs, and upcoming: cheating, trust, etc
Each of these has a sub-menu with settings and cheats.
NOTE: for cheats when clicking on another Sim, find them under "Actions" then "WooHoo Wellness & Pregnancy"
- Re-designed WTD treatment system
My WTD treatment system was too ambitious, because it tried to allow for automatic medication as well as manual medication. That meant having meds in Sim's inventories. The issue is that the game sometimes cannot access Sim's inventory. Especially, this matter made it basically impossible for NPCs to get cured properly.Had the system been fully manual, that wouldn't have been that much of a deal. But it was by default automatic, and I don't want to impose a fully manual system on players as that may get tedious.
This led me to a big decision. I want the system to be more reliable and smoother, hence the following changes:
- The system no longer has medication objects.- Treatment can no longer fail.- Treatment goes through even off screen (ie when playing other families).
The WTD system is otherwise left unchanged.
Minor fixes:
- Sims who got divorced after having a baby at some point won't see 'Admit getting another pregnant" with their new spouses anymore. Because that made no sense!

Last but not least:
Important OPTIONAL feature addition:Unwanted Pregnancy Acceptance Process
And, yes, this update is also adding in processes for Sims to grow to accept an unwanted pregnancy...
_____
This is a tough topic, and although I tried my best to remain sensitive about it, I am aware it may be of an upsetting nature to some people. If it is upsetting for you, and you believe I handled the topic poorly, please contact me as I would like to hear you out.
_____
This plays out in two ways. First, there is a process during pregnancy, which can lead to acceptance. Then, if no acceptance happens during pregnancy, the baby is born as unwanted, but another process can then take place to grow to love the baby.
1. During pregnancy acceptance possibilities
Interactions such as counseling, birth classes, etc, as well as discussing pregnancy with partners who see it in a more happy way, all have the ability to make a Sim closer to be able to be at peace with the pregnancy in question. There are a few new interactions as well, which I won't list for now so I'm not spoiling everything.Sims will NOT autonomously accept a pregnancy; once they are ready to do so, it still comes to the player to decide. Because I don't want to take the storytelling power out of your hands.
(text will be improved; this Sim was engaged in various activities that helped them make the baby more real and pre-bond with it and therefore can try to make peace with their unwanted pregnancy).
If peace is made during the pregnancy, things will change.
Pregnancy moodlets will show that this is an accepted pregnancy STARTING AT THE NEXT TRIMESTER (I don't think I can safely change them in the middle of a trimester, I will try once everything else is fully finished, but I'd rather tell you it will be at the next trimester so that if I find out I can't, you won't be disappointed).
The Sim will not anymore get pangs of sadness about being pregnant. They will also gain the ability to do some interactions that were reserved to neutral and happy pregnancies.
If pregnancy is accepted pre-birth, a sentiment is gained towards the baby at birth:
2. Post pregnancy acceptance possibilities
Could be that your Sim didn't manage to make peace with the pregnancy. What then?
The baby gets born with a negative sentiment... This sentiment will not budge until it is replaced with a happy sentiment or until acceptance has happened - happier sentiments won't be able to be added until the child is at least of toddler age.
The Sim will struggle to interact with the baby. Doing so will give moodlets always during and after sometimes after the interaction.
This moodlet is also the one that will appear from time to time near a toddler or child with the "Unwanted Child" sentiment.
Sometimes, for an hour or two after having interacted with the baby, the Sim will not be able to be directed to do so again, except to feed the baby and change diaper, which are necessary things to do.
(I use a cheat included in the mod to trigger giving birth and my Sim happened to be in the bathroom, which is why the bassinet is in this awkward place; sorry!)
At this point, there still remains a path to acceptance.
"Attempt to Bond" will have the Sim interact with the baby. There is a chance that this interaction may create acceptance, in which case the negative sentiment will leave.
This interaction is NOT autonomous, as once again, I wish to leave storytelling power in your hands. So, yes, a Sim still can never grow to accept a pregnancy / birth if that's what the story is. Such things happen in life...
Toddler age and beyond
If the negative sentiment is still there by toddler age, it will have impact there too. If no peace is made and the toddler grows to be a child, there too should be an impact.
This is the part that I am yet to do - toddler age and beyond.

That's it for the features rundown!
___________
RELEASE DATE? This week, said you?
As mentioned right above, I still need to cause an impact on toddlers / children.
I also need to polish up some elements of the rest of the things described here(mainly, edit text, check that everything is where it belongs and only when it belongs). Then give it a thorough testing, on my end and also testers will be testing all of it.
I am still very confident that these features should be in your hands by this week-end. Thursday and Friday will be dedicated to this and I do believe that these two days should be much enough to wrap up...I will try to also have the insemination related features ready by the release of v2, meaning, if I'm done with the rest early enough, I'll put those in too, but can't promise._______________
Feel free to share your thoughts and feedback, as always, as it helps me maintain the perspective needed to make the mod as good as it can be.P.S.: yes, still working on the Romantic Trust system thingie on the side, although not this week as this update took precedence. I think those improvements are worth delaying on what was voted by you to be the next installment of the mod. Fixing termination of pregnancy and making WTD treatment more foolproof seemed very important to me. I hope that you will be understanding of this choice...
