------ [MEMORY MOD] -----------

I hope you are liking the new mod! A few more memories based on stuff the game itself records should be added to the mod between tomorrow and Thursday, likely!

------- [RPO] BUG SOLVING -----------------------

- [A SOLVED BUG] The old issue of the teen pregnancy module in which the impregnator sim would not be recognized genetically and in the family tree as the parent of the baby has been SOLVED. This fix will be live in a next update soon.

- [AN UNSOLVED BUG - I NEED YOUR INPUT] Back in August, I made a post about how some players were having issues with the 'accepted pregnancy' features - I have NOT been able to reproduce that issue in my own game, not with young adult and older sims and not with teen sims either. So, if you've ever had the issue, I NEED INFO from you to figure out what's up. Namely, what other woohoo / pregnancy / birth mods you use, and more info on what happened and the Sim it happened to.

These players' problem happens during an accepted pregnancy, at the moment when trimester two turns into trimesters three. They report that the baby bump disappears and the sim is no longer considered as being in the right trimester.

------ The [CURSEFORGE] platform -------

I have added the Mood Pack to Curseforge (as well as Open Love Life and LGBTQIA+ as 'tests') at the moment.

I do not plan to add more mods on it until next month, when there mod manager beta comes out.

If that system is a really good one, then I might consider cross uploading more mods on their platform. It also depends on what YOU want.

Having mods on multiple platforms is more work (having to maintain several descriptions and re-upload files on several services) so it has to be worth it to both the user and the modder. If the user benefit is really huge, as they make it sound like it will be, then it will be worth it.

No matter what, Patreon remains my main platform.

What are your thoughts on all this?

----- [RPO] RESTRUCTURING OF RPO.... ? ----------------

I have decided to reorganize the pie menus for RPO. This decision stems from a larger decision to reorganize the presentation of the mod.

Why?:

This mod has become so big that it is a little complicated and stressful for me to handle as the one-unit giant. Cutting things apart will make it much easier to work on version 3, because it means I can do it piece by piece instead of feeling like I have to do everything at once.

Any update of ONE file currently requires users to re-download the ENTIRE mod. This is not ideal.

Many don't know what's in the mod because they grab it all in one fell swoop. Many also don't realize they can simply delete the features they don't want.

I want it to be clearer that every module can be used independently, and that the core files themselves should do no gameplay.

So, my goal is to keep pushing each part of the mod towards further independence.

The mod will become the 'Relationship & Pregnancy Overhaul Collection': a set of smaller mods (ie, 'modules' and 'add-ons') dependent on a common 'library' (ie, the 'core files').

IN ESSENCE, this is the SAME as what the mod already is. The difference is, it is described / formulated differently.

In practical terms, this changes nearly nothing other than:

the mod parts will be downloadable primarily module by module instead of all together in one download. Updates will also be module by module, so, easier to manage, since I almost never upload all modules at once, but generally just one or two at a time. + INITIALLY at least, I will also offer an 'all together' download so it's not a hassle for people who do use all parts of the mod! :)

each 'module' and 'add-on' will have its own patreon page, to unclog things as the RPO page currently is a horrid all of text. Each will list its own known issues, compatibility requirements, etc etc.

There will still be a master post for the 'RPO Collection' with a quick summary of and links to each module.

INSIDE the game, there will be very few visible changes. Here they are:

We will now have one big pie menu, with sub-menus for specific thematic functions. This is VERY SIMILAR to what we already have, since the two pie menus we have now each is organized in thematic sub-menus for the most part.

This is what the menu looks like right now, partway through the re-organization. Notice how it is close to simply being a merge of 'relationship wellness' and 'family and pregnancy'.

The 'temporary separations' have been separated from the 'permanent separations' and each will be their own files.

The core files have been reviewed to make sure that they do not add anything visible or impacting to the game, except debug and settings options. They serve as a library / necessary info bank for the other parts of the mods and that should be it. I have also updated some parts of the script to be more 'up to standards'.

the quantity of files is going to be the same as currently except for one more for the split separations module; and what they contain is going to remain very similar also (no gameplay etc changes at this time other than the pie menu cleanup).

I will be open with you throughout the process and open to your feedback as always.

If a change happens that you don't like, do let me know, we will find compromise and make it work.

Side Note: You will probably get a TON of Patreon emails if/when I make the posts for each of the modules / add-ons. I will put [IGNORE THIS] in the title so you know it's just placeholder posts that you should not bother clicking. But I apologize for the inconvenience.

Feel free to share your thoughts and be honest, I will take it all to heart!

Sorry for the long post,Lumpinou

I am really excited to see EA/Sims make the jump to CurseForge, showing (in theory) more formal acceptance of and support for mods. CurseForge is the primary platform my family uses for Minecraft mods and its seems to work really well. I actually thought of you when the announcement came out. Based on my limited understanding of the platform I was hoping it would mean a little less updating work for you (save those hands a bit!), but if its gonna make more work for you vs. less than I could see sticking to just 1 platform. Whatever you decide I love so many of your mods and RPO/LGBTQIA+ are non optional components of my gameplay; you've got my support! As for your decision about RPO, As long as you keep an easy way for folks like me who use most modules to grab em' all as needed (as you're planning) splitting it up for your ease (especially if it means you'll feel more able to make updates) makes tons of sense. Splitting up the "wall o' text" is a great idea all on its own. The only module from RPO I don't have in right now is teen pregnancy. I don't really WANT teen pregnancy and I had to "add to library" and "kill in the save" a glitchy teen pregnancy in Gen 6 of my legacy. I'm not very good at fully reading said walls o' text (better at writing them as you may have noticed lol) - didn't realize the module could cause a pregnancy on its own even if it wouldn't work quite right. Anyway, best of luck with whatever you decide! Already enjoying the memory mod, its so nice to be able to look back on those milestone moments. Have a nice night!

Please do releases where everything is one zip file (I use every module I think). I will be looking into Curseforge, maybe over the winter holiday, perhaps that will make it easier to download and update. I do not look forward to having to track every module and update them separately! Hope it makes your workload more manageable.

lumpinou

Totally valid concern! The plan is: it is easier to replace one file if I update only one than to replace all of them just because one has changed :) In case of updating several at once, I would package together the ones that have been changed in the post announcing the update. No matter what, we still end up with a more practical system I think. Or so I hope. But anyways I DO keep user simplicity in mind first and foremost in terms of how releases are packaged. We will see what can be done and if something does not work? We can always go back!!! The importance is to keep the line of communication as a community, as you are doing now 💚

I am fine with whatever you do in separating RPO. I do play with all modules in. I do love the pie menu change you made though, having them all in one place means less clicking for me and less confusion on where I find certain interactions.

Keira

I like separating it. There are some modules I already don't use/remove myself.

Nicolette Hogue

I think seperate folders for each if thats easier and ppl can choose. I hope you’ll have the mods on curseforge. I haven’t played in a while due to so much time it takes to update. Im hoping I won’t have to manual update any mods. Well wicked whims and basemental I likely wouldn’t due to being 18 plus. The automatic update part of it. I need it lol.

Melissa

You are amazing and we are so thankful for all you do. Make sure to keep taking care of yourself and your health. Also, I love the idea of relationship and pregnancy being combined. Genius!

Heather Bean

I am going to use CurseForge as far as it is possible and drop those Patreon accounts that are on there. I can't wait for a system which keeps most of my mods updated without all the awful hassle of updates. But mods that I love and are not on there, I will continue to manually update and support (for those that I do). If I were in your position, with your hands especially, I would choose the easiest option for you. I bet most of your patrons will stay with you whatever you choose!

Gabriella Antonsson

Going to use CurseForge either way since I have a bunch of mods to update all the time. BUT I will still stay on patreon to support you and downloads your mods from here if you decide not to put it all on CF! But I'd love it if all your mods was there as well <3 you're the best and whatever you decide we support you!

Moni

I don't really plan on using CurseForge. I'm not sure I trust it. It reminds me of all the glitched "viruses" that would get attached to sims and lots back in the Sims 2 and Sims 3 era with what was essentially the gallery.

Shawna Jackson

Honestly if it's harder to make the switch for modders i plan on staying a patreon (a few have said this will stay their primary anyway) i'm going to probably use it for things like MCCC and if it's really easy to navigate i might get some other mods off of them but i still will stay subscribed even if hte modders i follow on here all switch.

theblacksimmergirl

I had the bug with the accepting pregnancy issue, but i thought it was because i changed my pregnancy length through MCCC to be like 10 days long. I just kind of kept "cheating" her to the right pregnancy phase by MCCC and then it just finally stuck

Piper Blazin

I like the new pie menu! I love all the modules for RPO but I agree, it's nice to see it separated and reminding you of everything it offers!

Kristina

That's fantastic that you're finding ways to make the mod easier to manage. The pie menu looks great so far, and really, anything that makes it easier on you makes it easier on us, so it's all win-win. I'm not sure about CurseForge. I'm waiting to see how their Mod Manager works. There's concerns (possibly hyperbole) about it being bloatware and if that's the case, I'll just keep up with my manual update system. Just waiting to see how it all works, both for players and for modders.

So I have gotten the accepted pregnancy between 2nd and 3rd trimester bug. I have whicked whims, mc command center, pandasama birth mod, and nisas wicked perversions that could be affecting, i have other script but i dont know if they cause that issue. What I notice is that usually i am able to get the pregnant sim to accept their pregnancy by the end of the 2nd trimester/ beginning of 3rd trimester. It usually happens as they go into the 3rd trimester and the moodlet for the pregnancy disappears entirely. If i go into mc command center i can see they are still pregnant. If I try to force the birth through with cheats or mccc the sim will be in an eternal labor. I believe that saving and quitting the game resolves that issue but i think sim loses the accepted option and i have to start from the beginning to try and get them to accept the pregnancy. If i cheat the pregnancy preference to something other than does not want children i dont believe it goes through at all. Also if i try to cheat an early labor on a sim through mccc on sims that dont want the pregnancy, sometimes the moodlet will disappear and the bug happens. I think it might have something to do with mccc or it might be because whenever it glitches i usually use mccc to try and correct. Let me know if you need anything else, sorry this got wordy.

IrieGamerGyal Banton

I will enjoy them separated if that works better for you, personally, I take out the WTDs cause I don't want that much realism.

Len West

I use curseforge for Minecraft and I have to say it is quite nice that you can update the mods more easily (sort of like subscribing to workshop content in the Steam library). If you could add your public stuff, I am sure many of us would be very appreciative.

Len West

I am not sure if it is within the realm of modding, but adding step-relationships and adoptive relationships. (i.e. they are not genetically related so it treats it differently but still has some familial options).

Ayz

ks now has a "my memory" mod. interesting, but I'm gonna keep using yours!

lumpinou

It's basically her old memory system from slice of life. It gives moodlets for a bit after something happened, and does not record memories anywhere. It does something completely different than what my mod does. You can use both together if you like

Ayz

oh okay cool thanks! i thought they’d conflict :)

kesionna

The pregnancy disappeared on me just now. I had to go back to this post just so that I wouldn't freak out. I do have ww, and whoohoo wellness, I have ui cheats, kawaii stacie and little mssam mods. No other pregnancy mods but yours and wicked whims

lumpinou

Hi, What do you mean 'the pregnancy disappeared'? You mean the accepted pregnancy bug thingie just happened to you?

lumpinou

If so, can you exit (saving or not, up to you - no worries it can always be fixed by removing the accepted trait in the worst case) and remove all other mods and then reload and see if the pregnancy comes back properly and completes properly ?

kesionna

Oh and I must add. That I put 6 days of pregnancy in my game from wicked whims. And my pregnant sim wanted the baby from the jump. So accepted pregnancy wasn't the issue.

lumpinou

OK, here's an idea, put the pregnancy duration back to normal reload the lot, does it come back?

kesionna

And one more thing. My sim was pregnant up until she traveled with some friends to the geek a con. That is when I noticed she wasn't pregnant anymore.

kesionna

So traveling might have something to do with it as well.

kesionna

One more thing she is in her 3rd trimester

lumpinou

If it's not an accepted pregnancy, then it should have nothing to do with my mod - my best advice is to set the pregnancy length back to default and restart and see if it solved it. Or to take all other mods out and launch and see if that also works.

kesionna

Yes the accepted pregnancy bug just happened to me

lumpinou

That's something that would tell us if the modified pregnancy length is the cause or not

kesionna

Sadly no pregnancy still after I did what you said.

kesionna

She is still pregnant but there is no bump and it doesn't show in the box.

Jennifer Finnigan

Is anyone getting the bug where your your pregnant sim says "second trimester in 6 days" but it is set differently. I literally took out mods one at a time and then took everything out and it is still having the same thing. Both sims that are preggo in my household are long trimesters and I have it set on the default which is 3 days. Not sure what could be causing this. I have woohoo wellness, pandasam childbirth mod, MCCC and wonderful whims.

lumpinou

Never heard if that. Check that both mccc and WW agree on the pregnancy duration since they can each lengthen it but other than that I've no clue

Jennifer Finnigan

That was it... I had completely forgotten that WW had a lengthening things with pregnancy as well. Thanks!

Hello, I will say that I am having an error for over a week now. I am unsure how to fix it. I will send the last exception over on discord if you would like
