[Mod] Charm & Chemistry: Attraction System (RPO, Mod 17) - Sims 4 (Patreon)

- personality & Life Factors based and / or style (physique) based.For life factors, various things are looked at, not just one: personality traits, preferences, skills, etc.

- 5 levels of possible unilateral chemistry: neutral, rather charming, very charming, rather charmless, thoroughly charmless. Unilateral means each sim has an independent chemistry reaction to the other, it's not the same for both.- triggers either when meeting or when using 'get to know', depending on your settings.- chemistry status is visible in relationship panel.

- know what your sim thinks of others instantly by watching them react with a thought balloon and short animation. If it's a very strong reaction, a notification will also show.

Additionally, after trigger and for the first two sim hours ONLY, the romance menu will show chemistry icons to indicate chemistry level if any, to give you time to assimilate who your sim reacted to.

- various chat-triggered moodlets possible depending on both sim's chemistry about each other.To not spam constant moodlets about this, they are set to happen only sometimes.- Chemistry influences autonomy, relationship gain and loss, interaction success or failure, etc.

- Sim can ask others about turn-ons (shows an answer), ask them their opinion of Sim (gives the freshest chemistry level from the other sim to the asking sim) - under 'friendly'.

- Customizable with settings: choose whether each type of turn-on counts or not, when chemistry triggers, and if it should only affect single Sims or all.

- CROSS-MOD INTEGRATIONS:*If you use physical attractiveness mods by Turbodriver, the Style (appearence) TurnOns / TurnOffs will not be available, leaving the room for Turbo's work instead! Personality & Life TurnOns and TurnOffs will be available and functional to work alongside that if you so choose.*If you use personality traits by Chingyu and / or KiaraSims4, a good portion of them can be read by this mod and be taken into account!*If you want personality traits, preferences, skills, etc, from other mods to be taken into account, please say so to the modder and to me, so they reach out, as it's totally feasible and not a problem.

- remove previous version

- grab the RPO Core Library if you don't have it;

- grab the file from this post and put it directly into your mods folder or one subfolder (it's a .package file, so, not extracting!)

Hi! First of all, I love all the changes you've made to the RPO mod. Thank you so much! And, OMG, the chemistry module is so much fun! I've only just started playing around with it. So fun to watch your Sim turn into a flirty puddle when they meet a truly charming sim. LOL I do have a question about the Chemistry module. I have the "First Impressions" mod also installed, so from my mod files I removed the "Intro Type Matters" optional add-on and changed my setting so that I could have the chemistry trigger on the "Get to Know" interaction. I always cheat my Sims the "Observant" trait so that they learn everything all at once. I just tested my married female Sim and had her introduce herself to a brand new male sim, so she learned all 3 of his traits immediately. Then I had her immediately do the "Get to Know" interaction and it triggered the chemistry for her. She REALLY likes this Sim. LOL So all worked perfectly there. I then tested it on her husband. She obviously already knew all 3 of her husband's traits so then I had her do the "Get to Know' interaction with him. But in that instance, instead of any kind of chemistry, it generated a First Impression. Apparently she finds him pretentious. LOL So I guess my question is whether or not the Chemistry trigger is or will be "retroactive" - will chemistry trigger if your Sim already knows all 3 traits from previous encounters, and you subsequently do the "Get to Know" interaction sometime after the initial introduction? Or does First Impressions come in at that point instead like I saw with my 2 married sims? I hope that makes sense. Thanks so much!

Hi, and thank you for the nice words! That's a good thing to bring up. Chemistry can only trigger once via get to know, so, it will throw it once and then done, it only checks whether or not it has applied it before, it doesn't really care about trait knowledge etc. And for first impressions integration, if no chemistry can apply OR if the results are neutral, a first impression will apply indeed. So here, either of those things must have happened with your sim. You can check if they got neutral in their View of the husband's sim profile. Now for the sake of logic it could be better to prevent the first impressions substitute for Sims who already know each other long... I'll consider! For pré existing Sims if you want them to babe chemistry, you can make each other ask about 'opinion of chemistry with ___-' and that will trigger it. Even if there was a chemistry before, that will trigger it again because, if you ask someone 'what do you think of me?' it can be different now from ten years ago ehehe. So I did it that way-. Anyways, hope this helps!

Hi! Another question. Is there already (and I just can't find it), or will there be, a way to cheat chemistry between Sims? I have a household where I play a story line where a female sim is secretly enamored with her male roommate but he does not feel the same way. I just had her "Get to Know" him and she only got "Rather Charming" chemistry with him. I'd like to be able to cheat it up higher so it can play into that household's particular story line. He did get "Neutral" for her, which is perfect, but it would be good to be able to have cheated that down if it triggered higher. Thank you!

You can use the relbit cheats under 'actions' - just enable the first setting of the mod first!

Got it, thank you. And I did answer one of my own questions from earlier when I re-read the mod info above - I do see that there can be negative chemistry.

Is it possible to make sure the turn ons and turn offs don't conflict? For example, I have a sim that is turned on by higher education and wealth but is turned off by high paying job. True, they aren't exactly the same, but I can't understand why someone who wants someone educated and wealthy wouldn't expect them to have a high paying job lol. Do you think there's a way to add some sort of check to make sure these traits make sense together?

Yes, but also I didn't make it do that because there's indeed not the same. Esp. with education and wealth. I could make an exception for high paying job and wealth -

Hi, it's totally up to you which mod you use and which you don't. You can delete mine, delete theirs, keep both, it's just completely up to you

Hello, I cannot seem to figure out how to pick your turn ons and turn offs. I randomized it and they're greyed out and I cannot change them at all when I go into "specify turn ons" and "offs" respectively.

If you randomized them, the sim probably already has the maximum allowed. You would have to remove some to then be able to add some other ones

I know there's so many things taken into account for the personality turn ons but is there any chance we could sometime see a general description of what each personality is influenced by?? I can't seem to get the sims i want to have really good chemistry only mildly good. Some are obvious must other less so. Absolutely in love with this mod!!!

Hii! Firstly, thank you for adding so much life to this game. Truly amazing! I apologize if this question is getting reduntant but I am struggling to get the chemistry system to work for pre-played sims. I did remove the meet & mingle module since I use another dating system. Would that affect my ablity to choose my sims turn ons/offs? because I cant find it anywhere :( Thanks for any guidance.

No it should not matter. The menu is under 'rpo' then 'romance and friendship'

Is this compatible with lovestruck? does it overwrite the attraction system or sit beside it like social compatibility?

Hi, It's compatible. I however don't recommend having two attraction systems active at the same time. If you use Lovestruck's I recommend to leave this file out

hi, i subscribed just to be able to comment. i got an error message yesterday for M17 charm & chemistry but it seems v2.982 is not available. when will it be available? i cant find it anywhere even for members. thank you! love your mods, ive been using them from day 1

Hi, Check the index, 2.982 is listed under 'early access' Goes public between today / tomorrow so then it will be the normal post If you get an error message, you can send it on discord for me to check it

Hi, Lumpinou! First off, thank you SO much for your mods; they are the only reason I still play the game! My game is telling me that Lumpinou_RPO_Collection_M17_Charm&Chemistry_Attraction_v2.984.package The mod tries to run a “loot action” using ParticipantType.PickedSim, which the Sims 4 does not support in this specific context (DoubleSimResolver). This causes a game-breaking tuning error.

Hi, this is presumed to be an interaction between m17 and lgbtqia, it is not understood, and the only solution at present is to remove either mod

Another awesome update! I want to try this out later today. When you talk about the physical attractiveness mods by Turbodriver, do you mean WW? And if so, will we be able to use the RPO physical turn-ons instead of WW's if we switch the WW system off?

Thanks! Yes WW or Wonderful Whims. And yes, if you want to try my system for physical stuff too, you can switch off Turbo's attraction system and that'll do it, while keeping his mods in of course, and that'll let them appear. But personally I'd say if you have WW or wonderful whims, I'd recommend to use Turbo's system for physical attraction because it is much more developed! But it's totally all up to you and you can combine Turbo's mods with mine in any way you want all through settings for each mod

I love this! It's giving Sims 2 and i'm here for it. If you ever made a zodiac/astrology mod you would crush it - so hard to find good ones
