I was genuinely not expecting the amulet to be a fake! This is amazing because it's just one more data point to the pile that says that this plot of Lady I's has been in the making for a long time and that it's been planned very, very well. Since Sette can't read and since she was told to always keep the amulet close, there wasn't any way for her or anyone else to be able to read that fine print until now. It also makes me curious just how much Bastion actually knows about Sette, because it seems likely he was the one who had the amulet made in the first place and likely had to have had at least *some* idea of why it was deemed necessary to begin with.

Sette affects reality from the khert, she believed that necklace controlled Duane, and it did control Duane, but is that because Sette believe it hard enough and Duane is more deeply anchored in the khert? Is this a planned red herring???

1. Observation. Duane looks very funny clutching the shawl in the top row like it gives him protection. 2. Theory. The necklace is a placebo, but (as I'ld like to remind everyone) in real life placebos can still work because they engage other systems that do stuff. In this case mabe it was engaging some of Sette's unnatural powers.

Wohoo! I've long thought the amulet was actually using Sette's own powers. My guess was it was a direct line to the ghosts in Duane's body. I didn't guess it could be a complete fake, that's interesting.
