Two pages today, I busted butt to get one extra page done last week, so I thought I'd share it with all my besties.

A momentous visitor! Sette doesn't really remember her stillborn, dead twin brother... of course she doesn't, she was only a newborn herself for that brief time they were together. But she knows all a person's memories are inside them, somewhere. So she pulled him into her ugly hands in a desperate bid for comfort.

There have been moments in this comic that made my heart hurt ("Did she really die today?" & Mikaila's miserable expression when she struck back against Bastion - I can hear the unspoken 'Why?' every time I read that page) and moments that felt like a gut punch (Jon's death). This is the first to make me cry.

These pages and the preceding ones have prompted so many thoughts that I keep starting to write about them, discarding each attempt as insufficient, and then going back again just to read the page again. It's been a while since I've run across something that provoked that much of an emotional response to the point that I'll have to revisit this chapter well down the road just to be able to talk about it in a way that remotely lives up to what I'm looking at. Thank you so very much for this series. It's not a lot but, really, at this point, it's the most I can manage.

Powerful visuals, befitting a powerful scene. It's spellbinding. I don't really have any other words for it. This is what excellent fantasy, and excellent storytelling in general, looks like. It honestly boggles my mind that your work isn't much more famous. This deserves real recognition. But then again, maybe it's more satisfying to write for a smaller audience. That seems to be how most artists, myself included, prefer doing it these days. It's more comfy, and you get to talk with readers who are highly engaged, as opposed to the impersonal judgement of a crowd. In any case, you're keeping me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to what this all means.
