Laying out this little conversation was great fun. Sonorie back there in the shadows, expression cloaked, doing all the new high priestess' speaking for her. Queen Sonorie has spent a lot of her reign being led around by the plots of others. They're all dead now, so it's up to her to put a bow on all this, and she's committed to doing just that.

2026-09-07 11:00 Queen sonorie decked in red today, perhaps as a nod to Tirna and her scheming? Also interesting how much older the new high priestess is compared to the previous one 🤔

I love Ufal. He's so great. Can't believe you waited until the final act of the story to introduce this lovable worrywart haha.

Michael Stakely

She seems much less enthusiastic about her position that her late, lamented predecessor.

The Clag

Perhaps the other white meat?

hahahahaha, hrrrrrrm! I fucking love Sonorie, she's one of my fav chars. Now did she make this storm delay or is she just taking advantage of it. That lil priestess there better never open her mouth, she knows who put her there. :D Sonorie can have a little absolute political power, as a treat. also i love how you dont actually SHOW us her face in a close shot this whole page, gives it a good ominous vibe. ah and how she even asks her cunning, but vain, chancellor about HIMSELF when he starts to maybe think too much about certain things... :3

Manic Raven

Vagrant-Story-intro-cutscene vibes in the best way

Stillpoint

Oh no I love her more.

SET

is ufal so easily obfuscated?

Alight

The twin thing is suspicious, who did they gnab? Is that why the priestess is so distressed, or is something else?

Duke BG

High priestess acts as if it was she whom queen has just declared a secret older twin.

Stephanie Aldrich

No question in my mind that the twin isn't really here and Sonorie is making the priestess go with the lie, but I wonder who they're actually going to feed to everyone... And will the twin still need to be killed to cover this up? Without even the solace of believing she's going to live with the gods?

CD

Oh my. Who, uh, are we eating today then. I am so curious what lessons Sonorie may (or may not) have learnt after all the horrendous everythings. Was it not worth it in the end...?

Jeremy Ball

Actually... the sacrifice is only eaten by the nobby nobs... she's going to feed them what's left of the toilet attendant, isn't she. To spite them. Bits-o'-Karl's on the menu.

School of Night

Another festival saved by Beadman's Impossible Twin, the plant-based sacrifice that doesn’t sacrifice flavor!

Josh

Poor Ufal, I think he's too good of a person to be dealing with this shit. Hmm... he's almost like Sonorie if she hadn't been thrust into the queen role - the then-innocent woman we saw saying "I can't be the queen, I can't *kill* people!" Idle thought.

Hilde Klauss

One twin died at lythria shrine, in the flood after the explosion. Maybe they just take her corpse, and tell, she died in a proper ritual.
