Someone expressed interest in seeing some of the before and afters for the pages I'm editing for the next books. These are two of the more dramatically changed pages. This sequence - especially the second page - has always been just damn near opaque. You could not tell what Duane did! I think it reads better now.

You get a little more height on the printed page, which is handy for adding some breathing room. I'm finding it's also very helpful to just erase some of the background in some panels, so the figure pops better. Also, playing up the pymary colours helps a ton.

Ch10 is really satisfying to go back and edit. There are low points like the above, but there are also some pages in it I'm really proud of. Stockyard's death, Sette and the pain babies, and the latter Duane v Silver fight scenes are pretty strong, I think. Reading through it, I can literally see myself improving page by page. Practise really does work! lolOn 107 now of 850 pages to convert. Go Ash go 8)

Agreed - the revised second page makes it much clearer how Duane delivered the rocks. Very nice! The stars ... I'm dyin'

It's interesting how you removed some of the shadows and color grading for the print versions; I assume this is because the printing method makes it more muddy and indistinct on paper? Is this offset press or digital?

Ashley

It'll be offset. I do an ink density adjustment for each page, to help avoid it printing too dark. On these pages especially though, I wanted the actions to be a quick read, so I removed some of the excessive shading for a more graphic look :)

Khyrberos

This is very cool, and you picked a great page/scene to improve.

107 pages done already? Damn.

Capsandnumbers

That's a huge change! Does it feel like a victory lap?

Flyfly

That's a big improvement! I am now realising that I never understood what Duane did on those panels until I saw the new version here lmao

Hey! Just got an email that looks like it's from Iron Circus asking to provide a shipping address for the Kickstarter backed books. Wanted to check in if that sounds legit, and not a scam. Super excited to get physical copies of these.

Ashley

Hey Michael! Address survey emails went out a few months ago as far as I know. Be mindful about the url of whatever you're entering info into, but if that looks legit, should be fine.
