This is Magistratus Valentin and his brother in Riv Commandant Jan Rousseau. Fancy big lads with fancy big names and great big fancy ideas about the future of the city. They are fun but very skeevy, don't turn your back on either one.

Ah, I remember that guy (with his purple-haired Plat servants) from the Red Cost preview picture! Obviously he and his pal are both Coppers. Guess we'll soon find out what "The Red Cost" actually means?

The Valentins are a very influential family; one of the younger men is the Composer you're thinking of. Big guy here is high up in government and the Gefendur church.

Plods have a legislated appearance to try to keep them as uniform looking as possible, so no one recognises a dead loved one. Conveniently, this excludes abnormally shaped corpses like elder Coppers from usage.

The perspective and the staircase might be messing up size perceptions. Wait until everyone's on level ground to judge sizes :D The armoured guys are mostly a mix of castes though.
