Six pages today, find them attached. I really hate breaking up into individual updates a scene that's meant to be frenetic and chaotic. You just lose all impact!

We'll pick up on Monday back in the present day. Duane needs a metaphorical breather from his tale, and his audience has a few comments. Like: "I thought this story was about the salt lizard, you stupid spiderpaw." No, Nanna, no! Didn't you read the title page? It's called "The Brothers Adelier!"

Man. I remember reading in the old Ask Duane And Sette about Jon dying Plat-Old and was reading this with the assumption he'd be, relatively speaking, "safe" during this tale. Guess this teaches me to stop assuming stuff off old info! Intense update, I love the use of blue for the REALLY crazy scenes.

Interested, yes yes , Ashley. Please and thank you.

I'm so relieved that the enemy wright Duane fried wasn't one of the kids. Heartbroken about Jon though. He just struck me as a genuinely good person, especially for someone that young.

Reed Copperstrand

Wow. That was intense. And the realization that they killed the other kids spellmaster which lead to the current disaster... very well done. The reactions to Jon's death as well. Your storytelling skills just continue to amaze me. And poor Jon. :'(

Oh lordy... that thing on the 4th page reminds me of the stupid, stupid rat creatures. But bigger and eviler. So they've all got sort-of-stigmata from the angry khert at their port things? All of the port things, or just the hands?

This was a fantastic sequence full of gut-wrenching scenes, but the last panel on the first page really struck me. When I was a kid a friend of mine bit off her tongue while we were jumping on the trampoline and it looked much like that illustration (without the lightning obviously). Took me right back to that time!

You ever fall in love with a principled, honorable, adorable character only to have them die in awful circumstances? The Cope giveth, and the Cope taketh away. (On the bright side, given how old Jon is by Plat standards, the skillfull, superb Spellmaster Adelier still hasn’t lost a lad!)

Sharpeslass

Brilliance. I knew they'd have to fall through the earth at some point, in order to get to the caverns/lizards, but you got them there in such an epic, tragic and unexpected way. Poor Jon. We hardly knew ye. 😭 I really hope the rest of the kids get a safe landing.
