Of course we don't have horses or cows in this world so Lem would call "Bulldog's Eye!" rather than "Bull's eye!"

The mines are no longer operational since the Foi-Hellick began their rebellion but that doesn't mean it's been totally quiet down there...

Some friends came in from out of town over the weekend and we went to Busch Gardens yesterday. I snapped photos of a lot of cool lion sculptures, designs, and totems in the gift that will probably pop up in some form later in the comic. Coolest of all was the lions in the enclosure were eager to escape some rain and had themselves pressed right up against the glass so we stood there for a while oggling their coolness. I've been going to that park for almost forty years and never had the lions get so close! The rain may have kept the rides closed but it was still a pretty good day :3

Uneasy mines? Right next to the Awkward shafts and the Upset pits, no?

There was a line in one of the old Infocom adventure games that went "You feel uneasy as the mad scientist locks the door behind you and disolves the key in a vat of acid". I feel the monstrous understatement in the word "uneasy" there is about the same as that here...

In Russian the "[to hit] the bull's eye" idiom is "в яблочко" which translates as "[to hit] into the apple". Well... I mean, it translates "into the eyeball", but our word for "eyeball" is the same as "apple" (literally "eye apple").

If there are no bulls, how did the Bulldog get it's name? 0_0

Wikipedia : In some archery traditions the term "gold" is used in preference to "bullseye" A bit racially insensitive in the context of the soud :P
