I tried to keep this scene pretty short and sweet - I've noticed a lot of people don't have much patience for poor Jivi :)

Keeping it real though, this is the kind of stuff I love the best. Little emotional breakthroughs, little conversations between kids trying to figure things out. I know some comic makers trudge through conversations in order to get to the fightin' - the "good stuff." But I trudge through action scenes and world-building in order to get to the conversations :)

Anyway, next scene's with Duane and it's fairly violent and disturbing. His head is on wrong after his night with Ilganyag and his self-indulgent story-telling. Unlike Sette, he's keen to get on with The Plot, even if he has to shed some blood.

Panel 3 is almost as feely as panel 4. It's looking more likely that Sara will help Jivi learn something else.

I don't get why some people are so harsh on Jivi. Yes, he said some nasty things to Sette that were out of line, but he really was provoked and I can understand why it feels unfair to get all the blame when she was responsible as well. I think you set it up very well as a conflict where both sides are at fault. But he's trying to be a good person. I like him.

In so many films and books I'd wish the characters would just take a break together so we can see them as friends! It's wonderful that this happens here in Unsounded.

My favourite scene in the story so far was probably Duane fixing Sette's bumps and scratches in iori's shed. Not exactly action packed. ;)

I love the panel in Matty-vision, allowing us to see how he perceives the world.

Matty in panels 3&5 gives me life~

I get where Jivi is coming from. Being the "bigger person" is HARD, even for adults.

...and we readers know that Sette's been kicked around hard by life, but Jivi doesn't know that. He just knows what he's been through.
