This page is just questions for me. Toma and Elka want to organize the evacuation. But they're not very familiar with the shrine. If only there was a person next to them that was – and who the children will obey. But no, let's send her away and wander randomly ourselves. When eventually stumbling to the mess hall, he'll also expect children not to panic and perform his commands as soldiers. I'm also not exactly sure what Quiggley's methaphor is about exactly. What are the thorns, what bafflement is he referring to? (other than giving Duane a set up for a one-liner). Speaking of Duane, wtf is he up to? He's making it look like he's off to fight a villain, but who? I don't think he knows who Keon & Hetr are. Ricker has left the building. Off to fight vliegeng in the sky? Off to make a mega-pymary just-in-time cast to divert allepakh? How would that translate to tending to the cresce garden?

Cool Duane Alert. Careful there, you'll have to pay for it in dorkyness later. But make us proud, Zombie. Sad about Sette here though. Duane leaving her to go and try stopping his brother is the best he can do for -everyone-, but that leaves her alone and feeling abandoned some more, or puts her in terrible danger if she somehow tags along. In a better world, Duane might have given her a small gesture of comfort before running off, but in a better world, things would not have played out this way... Still, I have hope for the relationship between these two. :'(
