delicious page. Panattone!! I lived in Italy for three years in the early '80s and developed an addiction to the stuff YEARS before it was available in the states. I was going to recommend French toasting it, but it looks like you've already discovered that fabulous culinary trick. My other is to go to World Market on the 26th and buy out all their remaining panettone at discount.( They have a chocolate creme version to break diets for.) Happy Christmas!!

One year, and one year only, Trader Joe's stocked panettone in sliced loaf form. I gained ten pounds in a month. It was probably for the best that they discontinued it.
