Pay attention to how quickly Sette adapts to her fantastical surroundings and how readily she starts moving through it all. Throw a squirrel into a tree and maybe it's not so weird how easily it climbs.

Love the art style you use when drawing the khert.

"butt of some joke" I see what you did there

Sette’s always been a crambler scrambler, so it’s fun to see her move in the Khert… is this ease informed by her trip in chapter 7 at all? Or is this much more like a frog in the pond?

Winters King

Love sette's eyes in panel 1 and 2. Cold, and deliberately distant, so very unlike sette. She knows on a deeper level that Duane is right that her dad is a piece of shit in many ways, and that in the deep parts of her heart, she doesn't really want the life he maybe is, or is not setting herup with. Of course then theres the simple fact that as usual, Duane's well meaning aspect misses something very critical. Sette doesnt want to actually hurt her dad. Suggesting that is the wrong way to break her out of this.

Love Duane calling Sette a lion girl. And the khert is so pretty!

"So you're on first name terms now, eh?! Dwayne, I *told* ya t'stay away from that dame, she's bad news!"

"Trauma builds character" - Sette, apparently

Cheese Toast of Death

Something about those first two panels, they make Sette seem way older than a kid. No surprise, if she's straight-up used to crap that horrible. Doesn't even need the 'maybe stopped aging' thing.

It must be a refreshing change of pace for Lady I that the way to manipulate Sette is to just chase her wherever you want her

Your story is so rich in observations I've never heard voiced before, but that I recognize and delight to hear described. There should be a word, if there isn't one, for the fine and formidable distinction between sharing your self with someone and having them know you from any other source or method. What anyone sees from outside, is never remotely like what's confided oneself seeking to be known to another.

Just shouting out my appreciation for the casual, tired acknowledgement from Sette that her home life and upbringing has been rough - when at the beginning of the story and for a long time after, she would've insisted that it was all totally awesome. Now she doesn't even try to lie or misdirect or say that the khert is making stuff up because she knows better and knows that Duane knows better. I also appreciate the tired, unspoken implication that it's just how things are - born a Frummagem, that's how Frummagems live, and that's what her life will be. I just hope she reaches a point where she realizes that there are other paths she can take - I think she's getting there, very slowly but surely. Also I hope that now Duane has a better understanding of where all Sette's lying and braggadocio comes from and why.
