A really good episode, imo! Some of the best action so far, hijinks, and big plot developments! ....given where they found her, it's probably best that didn't successfully exhaust the red dragon's fire-breathing fuel, as they had planned to....

The reason Laios (and the others) were taking impact damage so well is because Marcille cast protection magic on them beforehand. Without that they would all be very, very dead. There's a scene in the manga's version of the previous episode that wasn't in the anime, explaining that *each time* you lose 13% of the body's mass, resurrection gets exponentially more likely to fail. Your skeleton is about 14% of your body's mass. That's 6 and bit 13s of body mass lost. So... Y'know... That's not super great.
