I believe it is now safe to say that Kabru is my favourite 🤩

It's interesting how much Laios and Kabru are opposites. Laios knows so, so, SO much about monsters, but is completely clueless about party dynamics, or just social interactions in general. Two of his party members leaving caught him completely by surprise. Meanwhile, Kabru is bad at fighting monsters, but is really good at fighting humanoids. And he seems to love complex social situations and pays attention to all the dungeon delving parties. He can also get his party to readily go along with anything he wants to do. In D&D terms, I'd call Laios a basic high-strength/con fighter type, with some points in intelligence, but with wisdom and charisma his dump-stats. Kabru, on the other hand, is probably more like a rogue, skilled at sneak attacks and targeting vital areas, with a high charisma.

Here's a little tidbit from the manga that didn't make it to the anime: Chilchuk started the halfling guild because he went with a party into the dungeon and caught them planning to use him as bait for a monster, not caring if he got revived or not. He genuinely cares about the halflings on the island, but apparently some of the others don't take well to being told what to do, since halflings like Mikabell think he's a greedy old man.
