Mr Tansu and his wife whose name I don't recall are Gnomes, not Halffoots. Falin can also use magic when not busy with being dead and such. So, not just elves, but also we haven't met a halffoot mage yet.

The dwarf group's horse's name (Anne) is the same name Senshi later gave to the kelpie he "befriended" and was forced to kill earlier in the show (kelpie is an aquatic spirit/monster from Scottish folklore that looks like a horse and acts all friendly and tame at first...but the second you get on its back it will try to drown and eat you.) The old mage couple were gnomes. The gnomes are also more capable with magic, but instead of commanding spirits like elves do they take pride in asking them and living respectfully with them (though the spirits can be less reliable that way.)
