Vilmu

"Winged unicorn" seems to be the most common term for...well, winged unicorn. It doesn't really seem to have a singular well agreed upon name, aside from My Little Pony causing more people to call them alicorns more recently. A fantasy author Piers Anthony called winged unicorn "alicorn" in his novel 40 years ago, based on an ad of a winged unicorn statue titled "alicorn" and him assuming that's the creature's name. Historically the "correct" meaning of "alicorn" is that it's the unicorn's horn and the substance it's made of (since people imagined it can be used for medicine.)

Ooh, I’ve read the Xanth books but never Piers Anthony’s other series. I might check it out.
