The trio has been able to do a variety of little magic (little as in not very powerful compared to other stuff we've seen, but still impressive because it's, well, magic.) Among other things, Tiger's Eye has also teleported a wallet from someone else's bag into his hand + made a vine he can control appear from the ground. Shingo is just crushing on Ami. She doesn't like him like that. Japan traditionally expects women to quit their jobs and stay at home after having kids. Things have been changing in recent years, but from my understanding it can still be difficult to have both a full-time career and kids. I'm not sure if you caught it, but Ami said the reason she could potentially be interested in family life over career is because she grew up alone with her mom, so there's a rare mention of the characters' family situation.
