The implication with the scene with Seiya singing to Princess Kakyuu is that Seiya initially had feelings for Kakyuu and then developed feelings for Usagi that still remained even after Kakyuu returned. But yes, if we saw more princesses I imagine they'd just all have that vaguely similar look. I think their home planet is essentially a dead husk but Kakyuu's magic can revive it if they return there (she is like the Usagi equivalent of their galaxy, after all.) Galaxia seems to leave planets as dead husks here, though in the manga/Crystal she blows them up.
