Vilmu

So, the creators have actually given pretty straight-forward answers for this ending: If you reject a system, you are rejected by it in turn. Remember the Black Rose guy Mikage? He snapped out of his delusions caused by his false memories and then "graduated." He disappeared from the school and everyone forgot about him: similar thing happened to Utena. The characters have their own personal and emotional issues because of their pasts/memories, which prevent them from moving forward, which is portrayed as the time stopping for them and them being stuck in whatever hellscape this school is and being unable to grow up. But if you can move past them, you can leave, you can grow up and you can enter the real world. They say revolution means gaining "the power to imagine the future" and Akio is no longer capable of that. Oh, and they have commented on that DAMN stopwatch Mickey has. He uses it to study "the structure of the world."

That makes sense that Utena moved on with her life and is probably waiting for Anthy to join it

Isabella

So it ended well for Mikage?

What you said Villimu is very intersting. But now I feel bad for everyone that's still at the school. Is it only for the main and minor characters and/or the background students. This means that they can't move on with their lives

Isabella

Admittedly I still need to catch up with this series. If I have any questions, are you free to answer Vilmu

Isabella

The scene with Utena trying to grab for Anthy happened in She-Ra between Catra and Adora where Catra is trying to grab for Adora and tells her she loves her

Isabella

Forget Utena and Anthy. Frog and Chu Chu are the true OTP
