I think the issue with the "The universe is at risk so lets put Adora's martyr-complex aside for the moment'-take, is that it didn't need to be Adora who sacrifices herself. Shadow Weaver herself confirmed that anyone could've taken the failsafe, and then nonetheless tries to make Adora take it even though Adora is struggling to be She-Ra (and Shadow Weaver is not even sure that She-Ra will actually survive the process). Logically speaking it makes sense for Adora to take the failsafe, but there is a strong argument in the fact that Adora never decided to be She-Ra in the first place. She was chosen to be She-Ra by Light Hope. In fact, Shadow Weaver kinda groomed Adora to be selfless and self-sacrificing since she was a child, so in that sense Adora was set-up to sacrifice herself here. She never really had a choice in the matter, even after she destroys the Sword. The writers try to point this out in the previous episode by having Catra ask Adora what she wants, and Adora just looks flabbergasted by the question, as if she's never really even considered that before. She's just been doing what other people expected of her her entire life.

Right Hordak can probably save Entrapta, Glimmer will probably be able to defeat her dad with the power boost she'll get from the heart being destroyed, but I'm not sure how Bow is going to survive Scorpia.
