Disney15ish

The likely reason Wu's fight was the best is because Jackie Chan choreographed any Wu fight scenes himself in live action before they were animated. The reason they credit so many writers is because the movie went through so many different variations. The Hageman Brothers (the writers of S1-6,8-10) are given part of a "Story by" credit, but likely from earlier drafts. One early draft that feels much more connected to the show was apparently going to be a time-travel movie where the ninja travel back in time to stop a giant snake from biting Garmadon and corrupting him.. There's even a fully animated scene from when this was the idea as a "deleted scene" between Lloyd and Past Garmadon. It would have included much more show connections like the ninjas being caught in a war between Eleemetal Masters and Vermillions, led by the giant Great Devourer, but apparently LEGO thought it would "confuse newcomers" so they scrapped that idea.

I'm not really someone who is of the mind that movies that are adaptations of TV shows (NOT movies that are directly connected) have to go deep into show lore....But literally anything here would have been better than the dullness we got! I would rather be confused than bored.
