Escape From Blackwood Manor: Developers Log 4th October 2026 (Patreon)

Hey everyone, been fixing bugs and taking feedback for the last few days so figured i would do a sort of in game update today since there was sort of a reason to do it (a new character is sort of gonna be in the video), if you cba i will leave a transcript below to read through easier, thanks everyone for your support and hope you enjoy the game, link to the demo below

Regarding the Poll in the video, I will start it in about 20 minutes or so, and it will last until next week, you will need to be a sponsor or patron to vote

Transcript: "So, it’s been a pretty hectic few days for me, what with the demo finally launching...

And then re-launching about four hours later after I had to push through a round of bug fixes and dumb typo’s I made

But other than that it’s actually been going pretty good, The response so far has been really positive, and Escape from Blackwood Manor has already reached over 700 Downloads

For everyone who played the demo and enjoyed it and left well wishes thanks a lot really means a lot, I’d bow my head in thanks but I have an image to maintain

And Thanks to All my Patrons and Sponsors too, couldn’t have done it without all your support these last few months

So, why no weekly dev log, well the main issue is I’m still in bug fixing and feedback mode post demo release, and hell I already made a post about the bugs I fixed in the v 0.1.1 update just the other day

So instead I figured I’d talk about some of the feedback people left and also what the plans I have for the future

Had some pretty good feedback be honest about a few QoL features, so in subsequent builds I’ll be working on upping the save file count which at the moment is capped at 20

There’s also a few ideas I already had such as having the save file say what room you’re in, so that’s being worked on alongside it

Another was adding points to the Database, Glossary, Galleries and Notes to show if they had been read or not, since there’s so many I can imagine it might get a tad confusing

Also someone else mentioned some of the VN segments had writing that was a tad hard to read in some of the Bad Endings and Cutscenes, so I’ll try and make the Drop Shadows a little better in future updates

(UPDATE: this isn't in the video but i might add in an extra hard dificulty setting in later updates)

There’s a lot more feedback but I won’t harp on I have to get to the next point already and that’s what I have planned next

So, I’ll be working on a steam release for the demo next, sort of

What I mean is I’ll give Gaben $100 and then a month later he’ll give me to okay to host Escape from Blackwood Manor on Steam, hopefully

Point is, might take a while, and in the meantime I’ll be working on Escape from Bla…

Actually fuck it, I’m just gonna refer to it as EFBM from now on it takes too long to type out, you get it…

So I’ll be working on EFBM until then, will probably make a tonne of progress, lots of updates, who knows will probably be more of the manor to explore too so it’s likely the next update for the Demo will be a tad more fleshed out, so there’s that to look forward to

There’s also a couple of other things, my biggest request for EFBM by far is a mobile and android port, like a lot of people want that so it’s being looked into soon

On top of that I might be setting up a discord server soon if there’s much of a demand for it, I’ve been told DMing me on Patreon doesn’t work most of the time so could be a good idea

Anyways, onto the final topic and it’s a fun one, hold up lemme flash someone on screen fora sec

This is Sarah miller and you might recognise her if you’ve played the demo but other than the small text under her Database entry you probably don’t know much about her

I do though I mean i kinda have a rough outline of how the whole game plays out already and Sarah Miller’s gonna be a real fun character trust me

So I’ll get to the point already, how do you want to see her Gagged when she shows up for the first time

If you’re a sponsor or a patron there’s gonna be a Poll and you can vote in it, whichever one wins will be added to the game and be in the final version for her encounter
