Disney and its massive back catalogue of movies, television shows, and assorted blockbuster IP debuted this week, and while launch day was not without its hiccups, the sheer volume of content on offer has made it an instant player in the streaming wars. So Scott and Tasha convened the day after launch to compare their first impressions of the service and some of its high-profile offerings. (Arguably the highest-profile of those, the live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian, will be the subject of an upcoming standalone bonus episode.) They also get into some of the changes that have been made to certain presentations — including some new Star Wars dialogue that became a launch-day meme — and what it means for the future of streaming, and cinema, for one service to lay claim to such a huge swath of the entertainment landscape.
