The Lobby: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Patreon)

JJ Abrams' conclusion to the sequel trilogy he kicked off with 2015's The Force Awakens is tasked with satisfying a lot of different, often opposing fan interests, and to say that The Rise of Skywalker satisfies them all with grace and style would definitely be an overstatement. Keith, Scott, and Tasha convened in a parking garage immediately after their screening of the new film to work out their divided feelings on the movie and what feels like a conspicuous "undoing" of much of what Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi brought to the series. Is this movie a distasteful example of what Scott sees as a series eating its own tail (**munch munch noises**), a movie undone by its apparent desire to satisfy fans' needs over the needs of its characters, or is it an attempt to remake Return of the Jedi for a new generation without calling it a remake? Perhaps it's all three! Whatever it is, we get into plot specifics, so click play to enter the spoiler zone!
