With the first season of CBS All Access' Star Trek: Picard now behind us, we're looking back on the first 10 episodes to assess how the Next Generation spinoff fared as both an entry in the Trek franchise and a modern science-fiction adventure series. Keith (who recapped the series at Vulture) and Tasha (who also wrote about it at Polygon) convene to compare notes on what about season one did work, what should have worked but didn't, what shouldn't have worked and did, and, ultimately, how much the series' flaws matter to those already invested in this universe. Needless to say, spoilers for the entire season lie ahead, so make sure you've seen the finale before diving in.

I think you guys are fans of Alex Garland's work, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts on DEVS in a future Switching Channels episode.

Yes, DEVS. And Twenties. Schitt's Creek is ending forever and it took advantage of the Levy/Ohara pair and introduced us to the next generation. And the CJ Walker mini series. Also, some old TV shows no one will ever watch or talk about that were great which I would enjoy other's opinions on are Galavant, You Me and the Apocalypse, and BrainDead.
