Bonus Episode: Talkin' Baseball (Movies) (Patreon)

Back when we recorded this episode in early June, it seemed like a summer without professional baseball, due to the coronavirus pandemic, was a foregone conclusion. As it turns out, that might not be the case, as Major League Baseball is revving up for a shortened season beginning at the end of July (though there's a whole lot that could go wrong with that plan, so consider us skeptical about this proposition on multiple fronts). But what hasn't changed between then and now is our affection for baseball movies, so we're using this as an excuse to discuss some of our favorites, as well what the sport itself brings to film that other sports don't. Our choices are as mixed as our sports metaphors, so get yourself a bag of peanuts and dive in.
