DC's new The Suicide Squad is just barely a sequel to 2016's Suicide Squad (which we actually discussed on the main show back in the day, paired with The Dirty Dozen), but it's still hard not to carry our strong negative associations with the latter film into this new spin on the property. Thankfully, James Gunn brings an energy to this Squad that feels distinct from its predecessor, while still being strongly reminiscent of the director's work over in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Keith and Tasha met up in the (virtual) Lobby to talk over what distinguishes this Squad — and its membership — from the previous one, how the carryover elements (namely Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn) have changed, and what, if anything, this film can tell us about DC's cinematic approach going forward.
