The long-in-the-works TV version of Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra's acclaimed mid-aughts comics series Y: The Last Man has finally materialized on FX on Hulu, which prompted Keith and Tasha to convene and discuss the choices this series makes in adapting a comic whose ideas about gender and POV character haven't aged particularly well. The central premise is still there, and remains as compelling as it was in the comics, but showrunner Eliza Clark (whom Tasha interviewed over at Polygon) has given this Y its own distinct tone and narrative approach that makes it hard to predict how closely the series will continue to follow the comic as it progresses. We speculate a bit about that, based on the first six episodes we've seen, while keeping it spoiler-lite beyond the events of the premiere.

I can't seem to stream or download this episode. Anyone else having the same problem?

Rigo Razo

Yup. This and the last regular episode as well.

PoorFrisco

Yup. Same thing happened a while back too. It was fixed in a couple days I think.

Does Patreon not have a way to make a post private so the download link can be tested before pushing it public?

Sigh, sorry again everyone, I truly don't know why this keeps happening. The episode shows as uploaded when I publish, and then when I come back it says invalid file. I've once again reuploaded, and have a message out to support to figure out why this keeps happening. -GK
