Netflix's blockbuster series Stranger Things just keeps getting bigger, with a fourth installment that widens its narrative scope and culminates in two feature-length "episodes" that set up the announced fifth and final season. It's undeniably bloated, but does it justify the expanded runtime? Genevieve, Keith, and Scott got together for a full spoiler discussion of where the season ended up, how it got there, and why so much of the journey was spent subjecting us to Argyle.

Is it me or is Genevieve's audio full of static?

Thank you for being the first group of critics to have anything slightly . . . critical to say about this season. I really wanted to love it - and I loved parts of it - but by the time we reached the finale I was pining for the tight writing and plotting of seasons 1 and 2 (I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I think season 2 is the best). The supersizing of everything these days does not necessarily result in a better outcome. And while I appreciate the series' hesitation to kill off any of its leads (and to keep adding interesting and charismatic characters like Robin), I would have definitely traded Argyle and Will and even Nancy for Eddie.
