Last one was a lot of fun, so here's another:

Licorice?

Comments

Doodlyboy15

You should clarify black licorice, some people think that twizzlers are licorice too...

rintaun

Where's the "Anise? More like 'anus'" option?

L Pedersen

Not a lot of scandinavians have voted yet I guess...

Draugluir

Norwegian here - my family is firmly split down the middle on this issue. Which way was I supposed to vote? 😛

JC

There are people that chew on dried cloves. These are the same people that eat black licorice. Now, red Vines licorice, or licorice whips at the theater when I was a kid, those you better gimme.

JC

Black licorice, anise and cloves are big with heavy smokers; it's one of the few things they can still taste.

Gregb

For me regular red licorice is ok, twizzlers are a definite no though.

I only know of Salmiakki from the Daily WTF and as you might imagine from that, I'm probably more likely to eat the car tire. And yet it's one of the least bad delicacies in the area. I mean, just read the other things one might eat in Iceland: https://www.biteoficeland.com/rotten-shark/

M van Dongen

Double salty licorice please. Also nice if you have a throat ache.

shitfug

Where's the "yes but only salted" option? Salmiakki is good but I can't stomach sweet-only

I’m assuming you are Scandinavian? My partner is danish and she loves saltfisk

Monadologist

Salmiakbitar? Like the icelandic stuff? I hated it when I first ate some. A coworker brought it in. Then I had some more the next day, then more the next day... When I went to iceland a few months later I bought a month's supply. I still hate it. Nom. Hate. Nom.

Zoe

German-Canadian here; both sides of my family love liquorice, though only the german half go for the salted stuff (i’ll eat it but it’s not my favourite: liquorice cigars for the win)

shitfug

Back-to-back best chapters since dome city arc imo

Licorice is ok, but I prefer fennel... you get the licorice flavor in a healthy vegetable! Yum!

My dad can't get enough of salted licorice, but the rest of the family thinks he's... eccentric because of it

Heedless

The serving of licorice to POWs is considered a war crime by the Geneva Convention.

I put weird shit on my coffee, so I can't judge.
